Chef Jim Fahey
A Three-Time Award Winner for “Best Mexican Chef” by Boston Magazine, Chef Fahey has over 20 years of culinary experience. Over the past 30 years he has traveled throughout Mexico where he learned all styles of Mexican cooking and cuisine, not only in restaurants, but also in homes and on the streets. After tasting a potato taco at the Papas Locas (“crazy potatoes”) street stand, Chef Fahey fell in love with Mexican street food. His travels have greatly inspired his culinary style, incorporating fresh and simple ingredients that are also healthy – he does not use the typical broths and lards found at other Mexican restaurants. His signature sauces (including his mole) set his menus above others and his cooking is like none you will find in Greater Boston. As head of the kitchen and part owner at Cambridge’s Forest Cafe, Chef Fahey won three “Best of Boston” awards for “Best Mexican Chef” from Boston Magazine, “Best Mexican Restaurant” four consecutive years from Zagat and won “Best Mexican Restaurant” awards from The Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Boston Phoenix and The Improper Bostonian.
